Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as youngster was awarded the Academy Award for best supporting actress in her performance as the loquacious and inquisitive daughter of the character played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romantic drama The Piano (1993). When she responded to a request to auditions open when she was nine years old, with no prior experience acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath part. Flora is the daughter of a Scottish musician who was blind. The couple were relocated to New Zealand during the middle of the 19th century in order to get married. At the age of a teen the family relocated from Canadian to United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's protagonist as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the main role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the TV adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. She played teens as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
